  • Chants Libres is the winner of 2 Opus Prizes

    The 14th Opus Prize awards ceremony, organized by the Conseil Québécois de la musique, was held on Sunday January 30th, at the Claude-Champagne Theatre at the University of Montreal. Nominated in four categories for its 13th new opera L’eau qui danse, la pomme qui chante et l’oiseau qui dit la vérité, Chants Libres took home two awards:

    1. Musical event of the year — Chants Libres
    2. Best new work of the year — Gilles Tremblay/Chants Libres

    Pauline Vaillancourt, our Artistic Director, would like to share these two awards with all the creative artists, performers, musicians and technical staff of the Enchanted Opera.

    Tickets for Arias, our upcoming production celebrating Chants Libres’ 20th anniversary, are now on sale! You can purchase them at the Monument-National Box Office or by dialing 514-871-2224 or 1-800-844-2172. Tickets are also available through the Admission website

  • The Enchanted Opera nominated for 4 Prix Opus!

    We are very pleased to announce that our 13th new opera L’eau qui danse, la pomme qui chante et l’oiseau qui dit la vérité has been nominated for a Prix Opus in four categories:

    • Best new work of the year
    • Concert of the year — Montreal
    • Concert of the year — modern and contemporary music
    • Recording of the year — modern and contemporary music

    The production of the Enchanted Opera, composed by Gilles Tremblay, libretto by Pierre Morency and directed by Robert Bellefeuille, was seen by more than 1400 people on November 19, 20, and 21 at the Salle Ludger-Duvernay at the Monument-National in Montreal.
