Biography

Marie-Annick Béliveau has been a fixture on Montréal stages for more than 20 years. She recently was awarded the Prix Opus for «Musical Event of the Year» for her performance in the remount of Canti Del Capricorno by Giacinto Scelsi, a performance-opera for solo voice. Marie-Annick is a leading artist in the field of modern and contemporary music. She has premiered more than 30 new works, and we can hear her voice in Canada and Europe on Radio-Canada and on many major labels. Also a seasoned singer of the classical repertoire, she has been produced in solo performances with various choirs and has performed in several recordings. Amongst others, we can hear her voice in films such as the Violon Rouge and Paul à Québec. Teaching is an important part of her career, she is the General Director of the Camp musical Père Lindsay, and teaches classical singing at UQÀM.
