The Enchanted Opera nominated for 4 Prix Opus!

Montréal, Monday, November 22, 2010 — We are very pleased to announce that our 13th new opera L’eau qui danse, la pomme qui chante et l’oiseau qui dit la vérité has been nominated for a Prix Opus in four categories:

  • Best new work of the year
  • Concert of the year — Montreal
  • Concert of the year — modern and contemporary music
  • Recording of the year — modern and contemporary music

The production of the Enchanted Opera, composed by Gilles Tremblay, libretto by Pierre Morency and directed by Robert Bellefeuille, was seen by more than 1400 people on November 19, 20, and 21 at the Salle Ludger-Duvernay at the Monument-National in Montreal.

Founded in 1996 and organized by the Conseil québécois de la musique, Les Prix Opus reflect the strength and diversity of the Quebec music scene, and underlines the excellence of concert music in Quebec across various musical repertoires.

The award ceremony will be held on January 30th, 2011 at 3:30 pm at the Salle Claude-Champagne at the University of Montreal, 200, Vincent-d’Indy avenue.
