Chants Libres awarded at the 2014-2015 Prix Opus gala
Chants Libres won the 2014-2015 prix Opus for “Musical event of the year” for its remount of Canti del Capricorno by Giacinto Scelsi, a performance opera created by Pauline Vaillancourt in 1995 and presented in March 2015 at the Usine C. This seminal work from the company’s repertoire has been brought back to life twenty years later by the mezzo-soprano Marie-Annick Béliveau, a rising star in contemporary opera.
