Montréal, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 — For Chants Libres, the year 2018 is starting with the presentation of some of the iconic costumes from our operas on Sunday, January 21 at Le Gesù, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., as part of an exhibit created for Le Vivier’s Open House, a free event open to everyone.

This year, Le Vivier wanted to highlight the work of Montréal designers in contemporary musical creation, especially the comprehensive art of opera, thus making the connection between new music, fashion and design.

From Ne blâmez jamais les bédouins to Le rêve de Grégoire, our selection provides a panorama of the resolutely modern costumes that have been created for our operas over the past 28 years by artists such as Massimo Guerrera, Ginette Noiseux, Anita Pantin, Marianne Thériault and Liz Vandal.
